Yoga Therapy / Yoga Rehab

Yoga Rehab is a unique type of yoga therapy developed by Dr. Robin. It is a yoga based rehabilitation session using yoga as a therapeutic tool for overcoming injury and pain. Issues such as low back pain, neck pain, shoulder injuries, hip, pelvic, knee, wrist pain and others can benefit. Yoga Rehab is also an excellent tool to improve poor posture, or get focused attention on your yoga practice to determine the cause of a chronic injury.

Private Yoga Rehab

A typical session will include a mixture of traditional yogic exercises and modern rehabilitative techniques applied to yoga. Your initial meeting will include a discussion of your health history and concerns, a thorough examination, and observation of your movement to discover the source of your injury. Sessions may include pranayama (breathing), restorative yoga poses, rehabilitative exercise, and traditional yoga postures.

Yoga Rehab can help you relieve pain, improve physical well being, and return to a fulfilling yoga practice and life.

Group Yoga Rehab Classes

A Hatha yoga class with the goal of preventing or recovering from low back pain, neck and upper back pain, shoulder or hip pain. Based on traditional therapeutic yoga postures combined with modern rehabilitative exercise. Strengthen your core, learn improved alignment and posture, and prevent future injury in a holistic way connecting body, mind and breath. This class is suitable for beginners, advanced yogis returning after an injury, or people who would like to heal using yoga. Workshop: Yoga & Low Back Pain

Do you experience low back pain in your life or yoga practice? Are you a yoga teacher with students who complain of low back discomfort? In this workshop we will explore the anatomy of the spine and pelvis; discuss different types of lower back/pelvic pain and how they respond to different yoga poses; which poses are great for the back and which to avoid; and discover some of the hidden keys to unlocking recovery from back pain. Suitable for all levels or RYT-200 hrs teachers.

Workshop Series: Yoga Anatomy Refresher - Going Deeper

In this workshop series we will discuss the anatomy of the spine and pelvis; the shoulder, elbow and wrist; and the hip, knee and foot. Each week we will refresh the anatomy of one region, and go deeper and further to understand how each part moves and is affected by yoga asana. We will explore any questions you have relating to the anatomy or your students, as well as discussing injuries and modifications. Suitable for RYT-200 teachers or health and fitness professionals.

With her Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology as well as her extensive training in Anatomy, Physiology, and Biomechanics to become a chiropractor, Robin is well suited to educate her yoga colleagues about human anatomy as it pertains to Yoga. Having taught numerous anatomy workshops for yoga teacher training programs, Robin has several prepared curiculums available or can design a curiculum suited to your groups needs.
